(Dr) Magdalena Biggar is a New Zealand trained female Breast, Endocrine & General Surgeon working in private practice - in Central Auckland (Epsom) and Ormiston Hospital - and as a Consultant Surgeon for Counties Manukau. Magda gained overseas specialist experience in the United Kingdom and Australia and now has expertise in surgery for breast cancer and other breast disease as well as endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid glands) and general surgery (with a particular interest in gallbladder surgery - laparoscopic cholecystectomy - due to the large volume of challenging cases encountered in her Counties Manukau role).  Recently she has travelled to Oxford to work in a world leading breast cancer unit and bring surgical skills and knowledge back to New Zealand.  

 

She has treated over 1000 patients with breast cancer over the last decade of practice.  Magda’s care is tailored for each patient, with compassion and clear communication. She is passionate about delivering high level care for optimal outcomes.  Patients are well supported by specialist nurses, including the team at Mercy Breast Clinic as appropriate, to provide a modern, multidisciplinary and professional environment.
