DERMATOLOGIST
Dr. Chin-Yun Lin 
Bsc (Med), MBBS (1st Hons), FRACP, FNZDS


 
Dr. Lin is a specialist dermatologist and accredited Mohs micrographic surgeon trained across New Zealand and Australia. His specialty interests include skin cancers, melanomas, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, pigmentary disorders, laser and cosmetic dermatology.  His clinical responsibilities also include consultations at Ormiston Hospital in Howick.
After graduating as the Dux from Macleans College in Auckland, he went on to complete his undergraduate medical degree with First-class Honours at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
He undertook his dermatology advanced training  at tertiary teaching hospitals in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch.  Further dermatology and Mohs surgical Fellowships were undertaken at St Vincent's Hospital and the Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia in Sydney.
Dr. Lin has won various dermatology awards such as the Trans-Tasman Scholarship for the best registrar presentation at the New Zealand Dermatological Society Annual Conference, and the best poster presentation at the Australasian College of Dermatologists Annual Scientific Meeting.  Dr Lin also takes interest in clinical teaching and research. He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences such as the World Congress of Dermoscopy.

ENT SPECIALIST
Jim Bartley 
 
Jim specialises in general otolaryngology with an interest in nasal and sinus disease.  Jim was involved in the early development including many of the advanced techniques of endoscopic sinus surgery in New Zealand.  His current research interests include the anti-infective actions of vitamin D and the role of CPAP masks on nasal physiology.  He also has private rooms in Epsom. He is an Honorary Associate Professor in Surgery at Auckland University and Biomedical Engineering at AUT University.

Rita Sasidharan

Dr Rita Sasidharan
is an Auckland trained Medical Oncologist. Rita has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Auckland City Hospital since 2006 and in private practice at 161 Oncology, Epsom since 2011.
Rita treats patients with a number of different cancers but her main clinical interests are Breast and Gastrointestinal cancers. She is also available to do Oncology evaluation and reports for Immigration purposes.
While Rita has a strong scientific background and clinical focus, her caring and empathetic nature enables her patients and their families to consider Rita as a valuable companion on their cancer treatment journey.
Rita is actively involved as Principal Investigator and Co Investigator in many clinical trials in breast cancer, gastro intestinal cancer, and supportive care. She is also a member of several co-operative trial groups and professional societies.  
Rita is the mother of two children and her hobbies include gardening, books and movies.

Chris Sealey

Chris completed his dental degree (BDS) at Otago in 1982. He worked as a dental house surgeon and junior lecturer before heading to the UK in 1985 to pursue training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He completed the dental fellowship (FDSRCPS) in Glasgow in 1988 before returning to Otago to study medicine. He gained his medical degree (MB ChB) in 1991.

Chris then spent three years at Tauranga hospital and sought experience in general surgery before moving to Adelaide, South Australia, for three years, to complete his advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He gained his Australasian Fellowship (FRACDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery) in 1998.

Chris has been involved in private and public oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Auckland since 1998. He is a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals and is the Auckland supervisor of training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. His areas of special interest include teaching, dental implant surgery, management of benign pathology of the jaws, jaw-joint surgery and management of facial trauma.

Chris also consults at Quay Park Health in the City and Southern Dental Specialists, Manurewa.

John Mutu-Grigg

John was born and educated in Auckland, and attended Auckland Grammar before entering Auckland Medical School.  He qualified to practice in 2002 and then pursued an interest in Orthopaedic surgery, attaining admission into the New Zealand, Advanced Orthopaedic Training Scheme in 2007. During this time John worked with some of the best Orthopaedic surgeons in Auckland and around New Zealand. John was awarded Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. He then travelled internationally for a further 2 years to obtain sub-specialist training.  John spent a year at the internationally renowned London Health Sciences Centre at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and specialised in Arthroplasty (hip and knee replacements) specialising in complex cases. A further year was spent at the University of Toronto at Toronto Western Hospital specialising in Hand and Wrist, microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
John is married with three young children. His ancestry is Maori via Ngati Kahu and Te Rarawa and New Zealand European.  Passions outside Orthopaedics are carpentry, woodwork, landscaping and anything to do with the ocean.

Bruce Peat is a Plastic Surgeon and Hand Surgeon, who has a Consultant Plastic Surgeon appointment at Middlemore Hospital and consults privately at East Care Specialist Centre (Botany) and Handworks (Epsom). He operates privately at East Care (local anaesthetic cases), Ormiston Hospital, Brightside Hospital and Ascot Hospital.
Born and educated in Auckland, Bruce graduated from the Auckland School of Medicine and trained as a Plastic Surgeon in New Zealand, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1989.
He trained for five years overseas undertaking further post-graduate training in Hand Surgery (USA), Microsurgery (Canada) and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery (England), including work as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery in the USA.
Bruce returned to Auckland in 1994 as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Middlemore Hospital, subsequently working as Deputy and then Head of the Plastic Surgery Department, where he remains as one of the senior Plastic Surgeons.

Stanley Loo, Plastic Surgeon is a fully trained and qualified Plastic Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon who has extensive experience in a wide variety in plastic surgical procedures. He is committed in providing care to the highest standard.
Originally from Auckland, Stanley graduated from the Auckland School of Medicine in 1995. His early medical training occurred in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch in a number of specialties. He then continued on to train in Plastic Surgery in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington gaining his Royal Australasian Fellowship of Surgery (FRACS).
Stanley continued onto postgraduate training in New Zealand, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan, in the fields of burns, cleft lip and palate surgery, microsurgery, microtia surgery and Asian cosmetic surgery,working with world renowned leaders in their fields.
Returning to New Zealand in 2008, Stanley was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Middlemore Hospital where he has subspecialty interests in Cleft Lip and Palate, Microvascular Surgery, Microtia Surgery and has been instrumental in the setting up of the Middlemore Head and Neck Service and the Melanoma Unit. Stanley is also involved in teaching of our future plastic surgeons.

Dirk Drent qualified as a Urologist in South Africa in 1985 and has been working as an Urologist in New Zealand since 1996.
He specialises in male and female urology.
Since 2008 Dirk has been doing nerve sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomies to remove prostate cancer and uses this technique in most instances. He is registered as an affiliated provider for laparoscopic radical prostatectomies and TURPs with Southern Cross Healthcare. He has performed many open nerve sparing radical prostatectomies for prostate cancer over a period of twenty two years
